v
Starting our Day:
Walk in Quietly
Empty Backpack/Put items in locker or desk
Meet teacher on the carpet for morning meeting
v
Entering the Classroom (Recess,
lunch):
Walk in quietly
Put equipment, lunchboxes in proper place
Sit in Seat
Wait patiently for teacher instructions
v
Restroom Procedure: Students should use the restroom at recess or lunch. Class trips to the
restroom should be kept to a minimum. When using the restroom, student will need to take the classroom hall pass and
go to the restroom with a classmate (buddy). Students must go directly to the restroom and come directly back.
v
When Students Finish an Assignment
Early:
ü
Study your weekly spelling words,
finish up any other assignments/projects (W.I.P Folder)
ü
Quietly read a book
ü
Practice Handwriting (write
letters, etc.)
v
Supplies: Students are expected to have their required classroom supplies each day. Some
crayons and pencils are also provided in the room.
v
When the Teacher Needs Student
Attention: Teacher will ring her bell and/or use the
“quiet signal”. When students hear the bell or see the raised quiet signal hand, they are to stop whatever they
are doing (freeze), turn, and face the teacher, and give their undivided attention.
v
When the Student Needs the
Teacher’s Attention:
Raise Hand
Do Not Speak-Out
Stay in your Seat
Wait Patiently
v
Progress Reports/Grades: Progress reports are meant to update you
on your child’s current academic progress. They are to be used to assist you and your child in any areas that may need
improvement prior to report cards. I encourage you to offer praise for “very good” marks, and put in extra study
time in areas that “need improvement”. Grades are available for viewing on www.engrade.com. Please check this website weekly, so you are not surprised!
v
Neatness: I expect students to turn in their BEST work. Students who choose to do messy/scribbled
work will either 1) Do it over or 2) Loose points.
v
Dismissal Procedure: Students are to remain in their seats until teacher dismisses the class. The
bell does not dismiss the class. Student’s desks and floor area must be clean and ready to begin working the next
day.
